Children are story-aholics. If we want to teach children Vedanta knowledge, we would do well to put it into a story form. Luckily, the ancient rishis knew this, and gave us many incredible stories that are rich in meaning and knowledge. I am currently reading the Harry Potter series to my children, and I’m fascinated how enthralled they are. They beg me to read at every possible chance we get. Every meal I read to them, we read when we wake up, and we read before bed. How wonderful if we could adapt the Bhagavad Gita for western children that would have them as enthralled. Of course they would absorb the knowledge almost by osmosis, and it would set up such wonderful moments for us to discuss the teachings inherent in the story.
